Music, Gender, and Globalization
Cornell University, Ithaca, NY; April 1–2, 2011.
Inviting graduate students and recent PhDs from across the humanities and the social sciences to submit presentation proposals for an interdisciplinary conference at Cornell University on April 1–2, 2011.
We especially welcome submissions from scholars in: historical musicology, ethnomusicology, anthropology, theater and performance studies, film and media studies, cultural studies, women’s, gender, and queer studies, comparative literature, area studies, political studies, and sociology.
The conference features three keynote talks by internationally renowned scholars, a film screening, a concert performance, a roundtable discussion, and a seminar.
Registration is free, and many meals are provided. Accommodation in Ithaca may be available with a graduate student. It is likely that we will be able to provide a limited number of modest travel grants to graduate students presenting at the conference.
