Philosophy has been concerned with music since Antiquity, and it still
approaches music from ever new perspectives. So far, however, there has
never been a book series dedicated specifically to topic of the
philosophy of music. This newly founded series publishes monographs and
essay collections reflecting the great variety of approaches and
traditions in both philosophy and musicology.
Project Avant was originally initiated by students, yet it is currently realized with the help of both PhD students and young academics. This feature of the project (one may call it “the freshness“) is an especially important part of the entire idea.
