The 10th RMA Music and Philosophy Study Group Conference is a two-day, in-person, international conference. The event will offer an opportunity for those with an interest in music and philosophy to share and discuss their work, in the hope of furthering dialogue in this area.

The conference comprises sessions in the following areas:

  • Keynotes from invited speakers;
  • Associates Sessions, hosted by organisations with related interests;
  • Themed Sessions, organised by individual session convenors, who have issued calls for papers on specific topics;
  • Free Sessions, inclusive of papers and lecture-recitals on all topics relating to music and philosophy.

Registration

“Early bird” registration is available until the end of April, and includes discounted registration fees.

There are a number of registration options available, including discounts for members of the RMA/BSA and for DCU staff and students. Further fee reduction options are provided for unwaged (covering those not currently employed), students, and those with disabilities. All delegates, including speakers, are required to register.

Please note when registering, that Eventbrite shows the conference starting at 9am on Thursday; nonetheless you can choose to register for Friday only if you wish.

The main conference catering is default vegetarian.

Final registration closes at 5pm on Monday 22nd June. Any speakers requiring registration after this time will be subject to an additional late registration fee.

The conference is generously supported by the Royal Musical Association, the British Society of Aesthetics, and Dublin City University.
